Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Great for stadium sports as well as hunting, the Bushnell Falcon is the standard in a wide-angle binocular. The durable design and finish allow for use in harsh conditions and rugged terrain. Coated lenses are helpful to keep fog out of vision and fold-down eyecups protect eyeglass lenses from scratching. The InstaFocus lever functions smoothly with just enough tension to control the magnification properly.

Product Description
An exceptional go-everywhere binocular, the Falcon is a great companion for sporting events, sightseeing outings, nature study, backpacking, theatre or concerts. Features include Bushnell porro prism coated optics for super sharp images. Affordably priced, and offered in two magnifications, these binoculars provide the detail that you would expect from a Bushnell product.

5 out of 5 stars Bushnell Binoculars   July 9, 2010

This product is very good for what I ordered it for. I needed it to look at targets on the firing range after making my shots to see where my hits were going.

4 out of 5 stars A Small Error and a Big Effort to Correct   June 11, 2010

I received from Amazon seller giggil, the Bushnell Bincoulars. However the neckstrip and carrying case were not included. This is a common error, but what is most important is that Giggil recognized the error and fixed it to my satisfaction, explaining that their business was just getting organized. It is important for us customers to count on this professional responsibility, over and above errors that might frequently occur. I recommend Giggil as a good buisiness to work with. J. Joseph

3 out of 5 stars Serviceable Binocs, Good Value for the Money   June 11, 2010

This is a C or C+ binocular sold at an A price. It is a serviceable optical instrument, good for viewing during the daytime but somewhat inadequate or marginally adequate for nighttime use in amateur astronomy. Of course, it is miles ahead of naked eye capabilities, and its price is really hard to beat.

This was my first binocular, which I bought for stargazing; I have owned it for two months now. I have used it during every clear night, except yesterday (when I got my new "upgraded" binocs). The night sky views with the Falcon are passable - but kind of dim and a bit blurry. The field of view is poor around the edges. Eye relief is not good, and can cause significant eyestrain with prolonged use. That said, Bushnell has to be commended for making binocular astronomy available on a shoestring budget. If you can afford only $30 for the hobby, then the Falcon 10x50 is a great buy.

Eventually, I decided that I deserved a better pair and ordered the Orion 10x50 Ultraview. This is not in the same price range, costing about 6 X as much as the Falcon, but I consider it money very well spent. Although the difference in optical quality is not day vs. night, it does come close. I was amazed at the difference. The views with my new pair are very bright, wide and sharp (due to fully multicoated optics), and the viewing extremely comfortable. Eye relief is almost double the Falcon's... my eyes love it! Mechanical construction is metal and solid. Eyecaps are retractable and interpupilary distance is adjustable.

If you can afford $180 or so for higher-quality optics, you owe it to yourself to get better binocs. No need to fret if you already own a Falcon, as it will serve you well as a back-up or an extra pair for a friend.

5 out of 5 stars finally, a decent pair of binoculars   June 7, 2010
Jonathan Barrios
This is the first nice set of binoculars that I have owned. I especially like the center focus bar. A few months back (before vacation) I thought I needed a new pair of bins. I purchased a pair that had a center focus wheel. I took them in the field to bird watch and was very disappointed with them. I had gotten so spoiled with the center focus bar that I had a hard time focusing fast enough with a center wheel focus. 9 times out of 10 the bird I was trying to look at flew away before I could bring the other pair (also Bushnell) into focus. I bought a pair of these about 2 months ago for stadium sports events.. I was very happy with them. Unfortunately they where broken on a recent family vacation. I came home and promptly bought a new set. I not only bought a pair for me, but also a pair for my two sons and my mother. I've never looked through a pair of ungodly expensive binoculars so I honestly can't tell you how these compare. But I will say I've owned several different pairs of 'nocs over the last decade and these are far and away my favorite.
