My wife and I both use the Pelican 1510 Case with the lid organizer. They hold our laptops, cameras, and enough personal items to take care of any situation. Everything is always protected and safe. You can spend more but can not get a better made case for daily use or travel.

I used to use this solely for my laptop and computer equipment. I carefully cut out the foam so all my gear slid into place, each item having it's own spot. Overkill!
I now use this as my only travel bag and carry it on, because of it's hard sides you can get a lot stuffed in it, and simply use the padding of clothes etc. to protect your laptop or other gear. I suggest getting the mesh divider that mounts inside the lid, that way you can open the case up and get right to items you may need on the trip.
My case shows the scars of many travels, but has held up well and is still fully functional.

A very solid case! Also very heavy. But it has rollers, so you don't always have to carry it.
If you are looking for a protective case to check at the airport, this is a fine choice!

I had been using a large Lowepro backpack to carry my camera gear around including on airlines. Sometimes lugging the heavy stuff from gate to gate put an extra strain on my back. I purchased the Pelican case which fits perfectly in the overhead bins of the planes and, since carry-on luggage isn't weighed I can load it down. Rarely have I ever even had to open the case for security to check the contents. Best of all, my back appreciated the handle and rollers. It is very heavy duty. I have known of Pelican quality and now I am using it. Great item!
