Lifetime warranty against defects About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

A wonderful piece of engineering. Each tool is fully functional (depending on the size of your hand, I guess) and of the quality you'd expect from Victorinox. It definitely is the ultimate "boy toy". Heads up on purchasing--I got mine from Provantage at thirty dollars less than the Amazon price, no sales tax and modest shipping charge AND it came in the fancy box pictured by Amazon( but apparently not shipped by them,according to other reviewers). Provantage also supplied accurate tracking information which Amazon does not. In fact it is the lack of accurate tracking information from Amazon that has put me off them on most items except for Kindle, which I do love.
Look around the net when shopping. It's a big competitive world out there.

A fantastic knife/multitool. My only disappointment is there is not a sheath included with it(at over $200.00 price tag), and trying to buy one has been almost impossible. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. GJM

Amazon was very misleading when it uses the current image. It shows that the Victorinix XAVT comes with the attractive gift box that you see in the image. But in reality it came with an over-sized carton box stuffed with sponge! With this kind of box it is definitely not for collector! I have posted 2 images taken from my iPhone. Please go have a look.
5 Stars to the Victorinox XAVT.
This is the mother of all Swiss Army knives. Everything you found in other series you can find them here. Especially useful are Traveller functions like the altimeter, barometer, temperature gauge, etc. Now I only need to have one tool.
Perhaps the duplication tools are for backup, just in case you broke any one of them.

I bought this for a collectors item but once I saw the size in real life i was amazed i am a kid and it fit my hand well too turn for something like screwing a nail just use 2 hands those of you who think it is too big its not i also bought the swisschamp and i cut my self more with the swisschamp then i did with this knife BUY ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

My husband was extremely pleased with the price of the XAVT and was thrilled when he received it. He is an avid knife collector, especially of Swiss Army knives, and this is one of Victorinox's most recent that he didn't have. I was pleased with the timely manner in which it was shipped.
