good socks for hiking in cold weather, snowshoeing March 25, 2010 T. Burkes If you need socks for hiking in cold weather or snowshoeing, these are great. They cushion your feet and keep them warm without bulk. I wear them whenever the weather is cold.
Cool socks to keep you warm February 28, 2010 J. Felske (Chippewa Falls, WI) Love all SmartWools but these are so cute too. Colors are great, go with everything. My only "issue" might be that I am used to wearing the hikers which are much thicker. Still, these are very comfortable and warm.
smartwool February 23, 2010 Patricia L. Fuller (Upstate NY) Socks are a fashionable version of Smartwools that have the multiple zones of weave/padding to cradle the foot. Great sock. Nice look.
Warm Toes!! February 14, 2010 Stuart D. Jurrens (Plainviiew, MN) Very satisfied with this product. No seams to irritate on the sides, bottom, or heal of the foot. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family.
Pills Aplenty, Pills Galore January 15, 2010 L. Thoburn (Morning View, KY USA) I have no gripe regarding the plushness or warmth of these socks. On the 3-4 occasions I've worn them, my SmartWool Saturn socks have kept my feet in toasty comfort as promised. Though they've only been laundered* 3-4 times and have never seen the inside of a dryer, these socks are already showing signs of wear. After the first wearing, the under surface looked hairy - so much so that I thought some of the faux fur trim of my clogs was stuck to the bottom; it was only after I tried to "de-fuzz" that I noticed the hair was actually coming from the sock. In addition looking shredded and shaggy, the surface of the socks are also covered with pills. At this rate, I'll likely get 30 washings. (While some posters have mentioned that you can get more than 1 wear per wash, for me this will be 30 wears as well - each with a .60 price tag.) For the price, I expected more.
* For the record, these socks always been laundered inside out in cold water with no fabric softener, and have been dried on a rack.)
